Jacksonville boats work for a living two months a year and take a beating doing it. The Holland Bottoms and Bayou Meto duck crowd runs jon boats and timber rigs whose cushions meet wet dogs, steel shot, mud and freezing dawns, and whose owners care about function over fashion in exactly the way that makes them good customers. Drab materials, tough stitching and padding that survives a retriever’s claws: that is the Jacksonville brief.

The work itself is honest small-ticket volume: bench cushions and swivel seats from $200, blind padding priced by the piece and gun-slip and dog-platform covers sewn from the same mud-tolerant stock. September is the deadline that matters here, and we hold early-fall slots for the timber crowd because a rig that misses opening weekend missed the point.

Air Force families add the other half: fair-weather runabouts and pontoons bought moving in and sold moving out, where a $400 seat refresh before the PCS listing returns real money against boats photographed with cracked vinyl.

Closed-cell or it does not hunt

Duck-rig foam has one non-negotiable spec that fair-weather boats skip: closed-cell. Open-cell foam in a timber boat becomes a frozen sponge by the second hunt, and it is the most common corner cut in the padding these rigs come with. Everything we build for the Bottoms crowd is closed-cell under mud-grade vinyl, because gear that quits in the timber does not get a second season.

The Bottoms and the base

Around Jacksonville the calls come from the Holland Bottoms crowd, the Bayou Meto access side, the Little Rock AFB families, the Highway 67 corridor, covering ZIP 72076. If your boat lives near those, odds are the van has patterned seats within sight of it.

Asked before duck season

Can my jon boat cushions be ready before opening weekend?

Book by mid-September and yes, comfortably. The duck-rig queue is the one seasonal crunch we manage with held slots, and cushion sets are quick bench work once patterns exist. Show up in late October and honesty says next split.

What materials survive dogs and steel shot?

Heavy-gauge marine vinyl or coated polyester in drab tones, closed-cell foam and PTFE-family thread that ultraviolet light cannot rot. It is overkill for a lake pontoon and exactly right for timber, and it prices only modestly above standard stock.

Selling a boat before a PCS move. Is a seat refresh worth it?

Usually, and the math is quick: cracked seats headline every lowball offer, and a few hundred dollars of visible refresh moves listing photos from project to turnkey. We have turned those jobs around inside a week when orders were short.

North Little Rock Boat Upholstery covers the whole metro. See the cost guide, the pontoon page, or nearby areas: Little Rock, Maumelle, Sherwood.
