Little Rock keeps more boats within twenty minutes of our base than anywhere else in the metro, and the Arkansas River is hard on their vinyl. Moored boats along the river corridor sit uncovered through hundred-degree summers, and ultraviolet light does to seat vinyl what it does to everything else left in Arkansas sun: fades it, dries it and opens the seams. The classic Little Rock call is a runabout whose back bench cracked first because the cover never quite reached it.

Mobile service is built for exactly this fleet. The boat stays on its lift, in its slip or on the trailer in the driveway; we pattern the tired pieces where they sit, sew them on marine machines with UV-rated thread and return to fit the finished work. A single bench re-cover runs $200 to $500 on the published table, a helm chair rebuild $450 to $1,200 and a full interior refresh $2,000 to $6,000, with photos settling most quotes before anyone drives anywhere.

The storage-lot fleet west of town adds a different rhythm: boats that sit for months under shrink wrap or cheap covers, where trapped moisture flattens foam and mildews stitching. Those jobs pair new vinyl with foam replacement more often, and the published foam line keeps that honest.

Why the south-facing seat dies first

River boats age asymmetrically. The seat that faces south while the boat sits in its slip dies years before its twin across the aisle, and owners routinely assume the whole interior is due when half of it still tests sound. We quote piece by piece off an in-person squeeze test, because paying to re-cover vinyl with five good years left is the kind of upsell this trade should retire.

The river corridor and beyond

Around Little Rock the calls come from Murray Park, the Rebsamen ramps, the river docks below the Big Dam Bridge, the west Little Rock storage lots, covering ZIPs 72202, 72207, 72211, 72223. If your boat lives near those, odds are the van has patterned seats within sight of it.

Little Rock boaters ask us

Can you re-cover my seats while the boat stays in its slip?

Yes, that is the whole model. We pattern and pull the tired pieces at your slip, sew them at the bench and come back to install. The boat never rides a trailer and you never wrestle a helm seat into a hatchback. Dock work at Murray Park and the river marinas is our daily routine.

What does a full interior cost on a typical runabout?

Most run $2,000 to $6,000 on the published table, driven by seat count, foam condition and vinyl grade. The photo quote narrows it fast, and piece-by-piece pricing means a sound back bench stays out of the invoice.

My vinyl is fine but the foam feels dead. Is that a smaller job?

Often yes. Foam swaps behind healthy vinyl run $50 to $150 per cushion on the table, and catching foam before it rots the stitching from underneath is the cheap version of this trade. Squeeze test honesty is house policy.
